About Dr. Pflederer
Dr. Rachel Pflederer is a highly skilled, board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with expertise in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. After earning her medical degree from the University of Indiana School of Medicine, Dr. Pflederer completed her dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she was named Chief Resident. In addition to advanced training in medical and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Pflederer is trained in the Mohs micrographic surgery technique. She has performed over 2,000 Mohs surgeries since her fellowship training. With her invaluable knowledge and skill set, Village Dermatology expanded its dermatology practice to include a surgical suite and extend its top-notch care to skin cancer removal surgeries, which has been successful. Dr. Pflederer is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Her dedication to skin cancer treatment and removal surgeries exemplifies her commitment to providing superior patient care.
Away from the office, Dr. Pflederer’s life revolves around family adventures, creative pursuits, and outdoor activities. She resides in Liberty Park, Vestavia, with her husband, Matt, and their three children, Jackson, Pearson, and Parker. In her free time, Dr. Pflederer enjoys unwinding by the lake, painting, skiing, camping, and attending concerts with friends and family. Dr. Pflederer’s personal passions reflect her dynamic and vibrant approach to both her work and her family life.
