Active FX
Offering the latest technology to improve the
aesthetic services we provide is an important aspect of the way we
do things at Village Dermatology. To that end, we are excited about
the addition of ActiveFX™ skin resurfacing with the Lumenis
UltraPulse® Encore™ to our cosmetic dermatology services. There has
been a lot of talk in the media about "fractional" resurfacing.
ActiveFX™ takes fractional resurfacing to the next level.
ActiveFX™ can be used to treat many common
skin conditions, including age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, large
pores, acne scars, uneven pigmentation, and lax skin. Not only is
ActiveFX™ an amazingly effective treatment for these conditions, but
it requires only one treatment, making it ideal for patients with
active lifestyles. Patients can expect to see immediate skin
tightening and significant improvements in skin tone and texture.
While IPL can be an effective treatment for
vessels, red and dark spots, it is somewhat less effective for
wrinkles, large pores, scars and lax skin. ActiveFX™ provides those
additional benefits above and beyond what can be expected with IPL.
Other popular fractional laser procedures require up to 5 treatments
for optimal results, each with a few days downtime.
The recovery time after ActiveFX™ laser
resurfacing is generally between four and seven days. The laser
stimulates new collagen growth in your skin, resulting in improved
elasticity and support. Your skin will continue to improve for up to
six months after 1 treatment!

UltraPulse Encore™ and the ActiveFX™ procedure, please call our office

DeepFX
With DeepFX™, the deep dermal layer of the
skin is revitalized using an innovative fractional laser that
provides results in a single treatment with quick recovery. Patients
see significant improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, and scars after
a single treatment. DeepFX™ is a revolutionary treatment using
fractional laser energy to reduce the signs of aging.
DeepFX™, powered by the Lumenis UltraPulse®,
works by precisely delivering thousands of tiny laser pulses into
the deep layers of the skin. Each pulse heats a deep column of
tissue eliminating pigment discolorations at the surface and
creating a zone of heating deep in the tissue. Unique to the
UltraPulse Encore™, these zones of heating shrink collagen, a
structural element in the skin. Furthermore, the skin continues to
improve. Over the next several months following treatment, a natural
process called collagenesis results in new, more organized a
collagen3. This collagen plumps the skin
and results in even greater smoothing.
Nearly as important as the area treated by
the laser are the areas left untouched. Using a fractional pattern
of laser pulses, the system is able to leave behind bridges of
untouched skin. These bridges speed healing and recovery and blend
into a uniform and satisfying result.
A single DeepFX™ treatment provides dramatic
and immediate results. DeepFX™ does more than soften the appearance
of imperfections; it can actually eliminate evidence of sun damage
and aging, providing a comprehensive and long-lasting solution.
